The Launch of the Intersectorial Strategy Against Corruption (ISAC) 2024-2030

On 4th of November 2024, the EU4GG project supported the launch event of the “Intersectoral Strategy Against Corruption 2024-2030” (ISAC).

The Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Ms. Adea Pirdeni presented the new strategy, which was drafted in cooperation with the EU4GG project as an initiative actively supported by EU.

The EU4GG assistance consisted on provision of recommendations to enhance the structure and the content, analysis of the inputs from the stakeholders, designing the mechanism for implementation, monitoring and reporting, assistance on preparing the passport of indicators and calculating the cost of implementation of the Strategy.

Minister Pirdeni informed that the ISAC includes three approaches to address the key challenges of the fight against corruption through prevention, punishment and awareness raising and education.

A key innovation is that ISAC, in addition to the public central institutions, it extends its measures to the local government units, private sector and at the same time strengthening the education on the culture of integrity.

Tackling corruption, greater transparency and accountability are obligations stemming from the accession negotiations, and Albania is putting efforts to meet such obligations with the EU support.

The next step is the successful implementation of the strategy through coordinated and inclusive processes, and the EU4GG project will provide technical assistance on this.
