On 10-11 December 2024, the EU4GG project, in partnership with the Agency for Support to Local Government (ASLG), organised a 2-day training in project identification and formulation for Albanian Municipalities and for the staff of the Agency’s Department for EU Integration and Projects.
The ability of local governments to identify and develop projects in line with EU standards is a cornerstone of the local economic development process.
The Agency for Support to Local Government is actively supporting local governments in the identification and formulation of projects in various sectors of the local economy. The training aimed to bring participants on the same page with regard to the successive phases of the project cycle and the main tools applied in building a successful project. It also provided the staff of the Agency with the opportunity to assess the type of support needed by the Municipalities.
Representatives from the following 14 municipalities took part in the training: Durrës, Dropull, Pukë, Divjakë, Dibër, Kolonjë, Bulqizë, Përmet, Librazhd, Libohovë, Klos, Peqin, Cërrik and Tiranë.
Participants were shown how to connect economic development with the EU integration priorities through linking the latter with their municipal development strategies.
